About Me......

Are you looking for engaging hands on activities for young kids? You have come to the right place.

I create resources for all subjects for primary students. I also create French materials for beginning students in French Immersion or Core French classes.

I love to share teaching tips and strategies as well, and you will find that my blog is dedicated to helping teachers and parents with ideas and activities that engage kids in their learning.

I am a recently retired primary teacher in Canada. I love teaching, so I still volunteer at my previous school. I also teach ukulele to several different groups with my husband who is a retired music teacher. I have also tutored students in French and volunteered in a grade 1/2 French Immersion class.
I enjoy working with other teachers and sharing tips and resources that will help to engage kids in their learning. It is rewarding to be able to continue to help others, even after leaving the classroom.

Creating Teaching Resources

I have created many resources over the years for my own classroom. Many colleagues wanted to use them, so when I stumbled upon Teachers Pay Teachers, I decided other teachers might benefit from them too. I continued to create new resources for my students and share them on TPT.

Now that I am retired, I can devote  more time supporting other teachers by creating resources for them. Most of my resources are suited for primary students.

I enjoy creating literacy and math resources, as well as projects and activities for social studies and science. I also have many French materials that I created for my tutoring.

How I Became Diamond Mom

Picture
I was introduced to the sport of geocaching in 2008 and I immediately fell in love with it. I had lived in Campbell River since 1979, but I had never really explored the area. With geocaching I discovered many wonderful trails, parks and hidden lakes and other gems that I never knew existed in my backyard. My geocaching handle is Diamond Mom because I search for hidden treasures and I am a mom. I now go by that name when looking for new adventures. Becoming a member of TPT and starting to blog was certainly a new adventure for me and I look forward to finding and sharing new treasures and ideas here for many years to come.
