How do others manage to sit and just write, write, write? Even if I wanted to, my brain would not be able to handle it. I need to mull over what I do with each one before starting the next one. After I finish a few, I go back and edit because I am sure to miss something if I edit immediately.
We have various reporting formats happening in our district right now, and there is a move to a new format for next year across the district. Some people are piloting it this year while others are staying with the tried and true. As for me, I am somewhere in between. Three years ago the district introduced a new primary report card with rubrics built into it. I piloted this one at my school. I am sticking with it until the new one comes as the new format incorporates a lot of the one I am using into it. It does require more work at first, but as the process continues it does get easier.
Okay, I guess I need to get back to writing the next report card. Unless I find another distraction in the meantime.
I would be interested in what others do when they are supposed to be writing their report cards and what types of assessments and report cards they use.
